I watched my grandmother "Tut" make sweet potatoes all of my life. I would watch in amazement at her level of patience and love put into each of her pies. I had no real intention of making pies, however, I definately figured I'd be eating them forever. As her health faded, I got the opportunity to ask her about her recipe. She was so happy to share it. I combined hers with some twists of my own and it makes for one helluva pie! As a single mom of two now grown kids, I have always looked for the next new thing that could change our dynamic and lives. 

My original trade and talent is with hair. I was a celebrity hair stylist and salon owner in Chicago. I have always loved entrepreneurship and getting my hands dirty. Without the support of my amazing parents and the love of my kids, I don't know where I would be. As I enter the second half of life with God's grace and mercy, I am truly taking nothing for granted. While I am here on this big blue ball called Earth, I want to enjoy what I love. Which is friends, family, and sweet potatoes!
